So you want to be an umpire?

If you are interested in umpiring in District 43, please contact your local little league using the "local leagues" option in the menu to the right.  There are several opportunities within District 43 for the young and old to get on the field and umpire baseball/softball games both regular season and tournament time.

Each individual league has the responsibility of filling the position of umpire for their scheduled games.  Depending on the league, this position might be a paid position, or volunteer position.  It is Little League Baseball's stance that umpires should not be paid as everyone associated with Little League Baseball is a volunteer.  However, the leagues also face the realization that the position is fraught with heated situations and volatile confrontations.

Available to the prospective umpire is an organization within District 43 that offers their services, free of charge to the leagues, to provide umpires for their games.  You can learn more about this program at www.d43umpires.org ... no experience required!!
